Consilio Town Planning have successfully overturned Officers recommendation for the refusal of extensions to a residential dwelling in Chiddingfold, Surrey. The applicant instructed Consilio to represent them at Committee where we were successfully able to convince members to overturn their Officers recommendation.

The planning officer sought to recommend refusal on the basis the extensions would impact the amenities of the neighbouring dwelling. Through a detailed analysis of the site, our planning team were able to demonstrate that the assessment was based on a flawed assessment and the harm was not as significant as members were led to believe.

Members resolved to recommend approval voting 5-3 in favour of the scheme. Consilio have been subsequently instructed by the landowner to prepare a planning appeal against an earlier refusal.
