Consilio Town Planning has secured permission at appeal for the remodelling and extensions to a dwelling in Uxbridge. Hillingdon.

Despite meeting design requirements for the extensions, the Council considered the appearance of the roof to be at odds with the immediate area. Following a detailed street scene assessment, the Inspector agreed with Consilio in that the roof respected the vernacular of the area. The Inspector also commented that the design changes to the dwelling would be a significant improvement to the dwelling, and wider area.

The Inspector determined that the appeal should be allowed, subject to conditions. Works are now under way to prepare detailed drawings for the proposal.
